Toronto Is Broken a.k.a. Christian Hoffmann is a producer from the little town of Barwell in the Leicestershire, a landlocked county in the Midlands of UK. Since 2012 he has been released a couple of tracks moving from breakbeat to Drum And Bass. In the last two years the Toronto Is Broken project has defined his sound into a beautiful mix of Techy Neurofunk, oldschool Jungle samples and dark & deep sounds. The perfect example of this amazing mix is Original, a track in which the classic jungle sample: “we is the original don of all dons” is perfectly combined with raw basses and glitchy drums.
The first days of June give the welcome to another single from this artist. The single contains two tracks: ‘Make Me Feel / Trying To Find Home’. These two songs anticipate the album:’You Are (Not) Alone, forthcoming on Viper Recordings. The two tracks released are very different and show the ability of the producer to go across very different styles. Make Me Feel is a dancefloor banger, which shows us the love of Toronto Is Broken for Neurofunk. The track is caractherized by drums that change continuously all along the duration of the song: syncopated at first, then halfstep, then aggressively kicking on 4/4 in a last punchy break with a thick snare. On the other side Trying To Find Home starts with piano chords and the wonderful vocals of Jodie Carnall. Here the strings, the pads and the fast amen breaks are put togheter perfectly to create a unique chill and relaxing atmosphere . This track has been supported by Liquicity on their YouTube channel. The ability that Toronto is Broken has shown us ’til now makes everyone to hope for future surprises.
